John G. Peters, Jr., Ph.D. serves as president and Chief Learning Officer of the IPICD. A former administrator of a medium-sized police department, police officer, and deputy sheriff, Dr. Peters is author of more than 300 publications, and is a judicially-qualified expert witness. In addition to his undergraduate criminal justice degree from the University of Baltimore, Dr. Peters holds 4 graduate degrees, which includes a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, and a California CLEAR teaching credential. In 2020, Dr. Peters was appointed Executive Director of the Americans for Effective Law Enforcement. He has also conducted primary research on Spit Restraint devices, The WRAP Restraint System, sexual harassment in public safety agencies, criminal investigation management, and hypnosis as a learning tool. He has also taught research methods and statistics at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
