Use-Of-Force by the Numbers™: 4,8,14 - Train-the-Trainer Program
(following the AELE Lethal and Less-Lethal Program). This Use-of-Force Train-the-Trainer program will identify the importance of teaching law enforcement officers Amendment-based force standards. Amendment-based force standards are what govern an officer's constitutional use-of-force when analyzed under the United States Constitution. IPICD Force Flyer
Through the use of table-top exercises and video vinettes, and lecture attendees will learn why Amendment-based force standards are replacing continuums, matrices, etc. and why continuums (or their equivalent) and/or their force levels need to be removed from agency use-of-force policies. Negligence elements, categories, and standards (including manufacturer produce warnings) will be identified, taught, and applied to agency policy, training, and state tort claims.
This program is offered in March 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada immediately following the AELE program at The Orleans Hotel. To register, please go to IPICD Seminars.
